We are happy to announce that our marina in Tonga is scheduled to reopen on the 1st of April 2021. Please be aware that additional entry requirements and restrictions may still apply for this destination.
The unique geography of the Tongan Archipelago offers exciting blue water sailing and easier line-of-sight island hopping, giving you the chance to discover distant shores untouched by human hands.
Just 52 of the 177 palm-strewn islands of the Tongan Archipelago are permanently inhabited. Our Tongan base, a partner location, is found on blissful Vava’u, a fertile volcanic island of coral reefs, isolated lagoons and limestone cliffs located thousands of miles from the nearest large landmass.
Anchor opposite deserted tropical beaches and unpopulated islands bordered by coral reefs, perfect for diving and snorkelling. Taste the islands’ delicious fresh fruit and attend traditional Tongan feasts, experiencing the unique island culture first-hand. Sail the aquamarine waters of the South Pacific in the company of majestic humpback whales and take in thrilling water sports including kite surfing and windsailing. A Tongan sailing holiday is a once-in-a-lifetime treat.
Tonga essential information COVID-19 travel restrictions
Due to current regulations, Tonga charters may not start or end on a Sunday. Also, in observance of King Tupou VI's birthday and the Crown Prince's birthday, the base will be closed on July 4th and 17th. If those dates fall on a Sunday, the holidays will be observed the following Monday. Regrettably, our base will be closed these two days and will not be open as a charter start or end day.
The ultimate freedom to discover the Tongan Archipelago and sail wherever the wind takes you. A bareboat charter holiday is just you, a beautiful modern yacht and the boundless South Pacific to explore. Set your own schedule and drop anchor whenever you feel the need—it’s your holiday and what you say goes.
Our intermediate sailing destinations, Level 2 sailing areas offer a greater challenge for sailors more comfortable on the open water. Enjoy strong winds and longer spells of open water sailing, suitable for more experienced skippers.
