COVID-19 Travel Restrictions in Antigua

Please view Antigua’s latest travel requirements in response to covid 19 below. Sunsail will continue to monitor these updates to keep our guests informed of any changes.

We would also advise that you contact your airline for the most up to date information around entry requirements and re-entry to your home country.

*Please check that this information is applicable for your departure country, as selected countries are not allowed to enter certain sailing destinations.

While Anitgua is opening its borders for international travelers, certain Policies and Procedures will need to be followed when entering the country, before, and during your stay there.

Before You Go | When You Arrive | During Your Charter

Before You Go

All Fully Vaccinated Travellers regardless of age:

  • Fully vaccinated arriving passengers are not required to present a PCR/Rapid Antigen Test to be permitted entry into Antigua and Barbuda, (unless they show symptoms of possible infection). This includes transiting passengers.
  • Arriving passengers are not required to present verifiable documentation of full vaccination to be permitted entry into Antigua and Barbuda.
  • Fully vaccinated passengers may be required to submit to a RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 upon arrival at their own expense. Instructions on permissible activities while awaiting results will be provided by Port Health officials.
Partially or Univaccinated Travellers 5-18 years:

  • Partially/Unvaccinated passengers with no COVID 19 symptoms are permitted entry provided they:
a. Present a negative certified PCR result taken no more than three (3) days or Rapid Antigen Test taken no more than 24 hours prior to arrival in Antigua and Barbuda.
b. Submit to a RT-PCR test on arrival at their own expense
c. Quarantine for ten (10) days in their own homes (or booked holiday accommodation) if partially vaccinated i.e:
i. Either received 1 dose of a 2-dose vaccine OR
ii. the 2nd dose of a 2-dose vaccine was received less than two weeks prior to arrival).
d. Quarantine for fourteen (14) days in their own homes (or booked holiday accommodation) if unvaccinated. If symptoms appear during the period of quarantine, the person must be placed in isolation and will be tested for COVID-19.
  • Unvaccinated minors between the ages of five and eighteen years old must present a negative certified RT-PCR result taken no more than three (3) days or Rapid Antigen Test taken no more than 24 hours prior to arrival in Antigua and Barbuda.
    Unvaccinated minors who are not staying at a certified resort/accommodation (Airbnb)) may be required to quarantine at home for a period of 10 – 14 days.
Travellers under the age of 5:
  • Do not need to present a negative Covid-19 PCR Test

All Travellers:

  • All arriving passengers must complete a Health Declaration Form (given to you on your flight to Antigua) and will be subject to screening and temperature checks by Port Health Authorities upon arrival in Antigua and Barbuda.
  • Submit your full guest list in advance of travel to us via the manage my booking link 
  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance

When You Arrive

  • Upon your arrival at the airport, please state your intended destination is Antigua Charter Services, NOT Sunsail. We are recognized as Antigua Charter Services as we have more than one brand located in Antigua - Sunsail & The Moorings.
  • At VC Bird International Airport, passengers must complete a Health Declaration form and will be subject to temperature checks by Port Health Authorities.
  • The wearing of face masks in public spaces is actively encouraged throughout Antigua and Barbuda and social/physical distancing protocols should still be adhered to. Therefore, all passengers arriving in Antigua and Barbuda are encouraged to wear face masks wherever there are gatherings of significant numbers of people e.g., ports, supermarkets, bars and clubs.

During Your Charter

  • Curfew hours in Antigua are from 11pm-5am
  • Beaches are open on weekdays and weekends between the hours of 5am and 7pm
  • Bars are open. To enter you must be fully vaccinated and present photo ID vaccination cards before entry.
  • Restaurants are open for dining-in and take out. If guests would like to dine-in, they must have received at least one dose of a WHO approved COVID-19 vaccine. Children below the age of 18 years are exempt from this requirement.
  • Social gatherings are limited to 10 persons.
  • We are dedicated to giving you peace of mind when you charter with us. Our industry-leading safety measures include the fogging and disinfecting of all yachts before each charter begins.

Covid-19 Testing Centres in Antigua

  • Mount St John's Medical Center, which is approximately 45 mins to 1 hour by car or taxi
  • To schedule an appointment in advance of your trip, please complete this form. The cost of the test is $200 USD.
