The BVI, but even better

  Back to Waterlines
At our base in Tortola (our Caribbean home-away-from-home), we have activities for everyone from chilled-out beach-bums to die-hard sailors.

There’s so much to love about the BVI and we want to share it with everyone, so we sent a film crew out to capture some of what makes this Caribbean sailing playground so extraordinary. Let us take you on a journey around the BVI, from the first time you head out of Road Town to splashing around the Baths and catching the winds that’ll speed you down the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Be warned, this destination will have you hooked!

BVI Must-do’s

Set sail for Anegada

It’s the most far-flung island in the BVI, but Anegada should be at the top of the list for anyone searching for peace, quiet and powder-soft sand. Stretch your sailing legs on the amazing blue water sail from Tortola, moor up in the stunning shallows, dine on some of the best lobster in the Caribbean and watch the sun set from the beaches of this flat coral island.

Explore underwater

Of course, what you’ll see of the BVI as you sail is pretty spectacular. But the views under the sea are just as amazing. If you’re looking to inject a bit of adventure into your holiday, join up with Sunsail’s diving partner Sail Caribbean Divers to explore the incredible sights of the BVI below. Shipwrecks, coral reefs and a variety of tropical fish are waiting to be discovered – and they’ll even collect you straight off your boat!

Sample cocktails by the beach

What would a Caribbean holiday be without the rum? Bar-hop in style onboard your yacht, finding the perfect beachside bars and luxurious resorts scattered across the islands. The Painkiller is the signature drink here, and the tropical mix of pineapple, coconut, orange juice and rum is perfectly matched to the glorious sunshine and amazing weather.
