Sunsail Sailing Holidays in Italy
Due to popular demand in our Mediterranean destinations, Sunsail has opened two new charter bases in Italy.
Our first, Palermo, is on the northwest coast of Sicily and is often described as the most beautiful promontory in the world. It is known for its unique natural beauty and the highest volcano in Europe 'Mount Etna'.
Located on the southwest coast of Italy, our second base, Tropea, offers both historical and architectural scenery, while overlooking a crystal clear blue sea and white sandy beaches.
NEW for 2010, is our base in Procida in the Gulf of Naples. Less well known that its glamorous neighbouring islands of Ischia or Capri but this is its charm. It's also the ideal starting point for a charter to the Pontine Islands or the superb Amalfi Coast.

How to Get There
Palermo - Fly to Palermo airport and the Palermo base is approx. a one hour and 30 minute drive.
Tropea - Fly to Lamezia Terme Airport and the Tropea base is approx. a one hour drive.
Procida - Fly to Naples. The island of Procida is approximately 25km from Naples so take a hydrofoil or ferry from one of the three main ports of Naples. The journey time by ferry will take approx. one hour and by hydrofoil approx. 35 minutes.

Wind and Sailing Conditions
Summer winds of 8-12 knots from the north-west with warm sea breezes and a Mediterranean climate. Plenty of sheltered anchorages, bays and harbours.
