Sunsail Balearics Base

BASE

  • Palma, Spain

In the Mediterranean, off the eastern coast of Spain, our Balearic Islands cruising area encompasses Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera. From sandy bays and golden beaches to lively harbours and craggy peaks, the Balearics possess their own hidden lifestyle, entertainment and cuisine, as varied and exciting as sailing in the islands themselves.

WIND AND SAILING CONDITIONS

In the western cruising area, southeast winds generally prevail in the summer months. In the eastern cruising area, including Menorca, winds are generally from the north and northwest throughout the year. East Mallorca to Menorca winds are northwest and Ibiza to West Mallorca, east to southeast winds are common from 5 to 15 knots. The area enjoys a dry, mild climate year-round with some rain in April.
