Sunsail RYA Sailing Schools : Thailand and Australia

Holiday Fun

The idea of spending your precious holiday at school is not most people's idea of fun - unless it is at one of Sunsail's Sailing Schools! Sunsail is one of the world's oldest Sailing Schools with more than 26 years experience teaching people how to sail.

Our Sailing Schools originated in the UK and have since shared their winning formula throughout the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.

Asia Pacific Locations

We now have two sailing schools in the Asia Pacific region:

  • The Whitsundays, Australia. Situated inside the Great Barrier Reef, off the east coast of Northern Australia
  • Phuket, Thailand

Sunsail's instructors all possess registered RYA qualifications and accreditations and are selected for their expertise and enthusiasm. Our highly acclaimed teaching programme combined with our friendly and fun attitude will help build confidence on and off the water. As well as practical sessions afloat, you will become proficient with theory components.

The Fun Factor

Sailing is meant to be fun! Sunsail is committed to making sure you have a great time while you learn. Many of our students return year after year to enrol in new courses and also recommend us to their friends, families and colleagues. It is also not uncommon for past students to become valued employees of Sunsail.

Quality Yachts

All of our sailing courses are taught aboard Sunsail's fleet of immaculately maintained, quality yachts. We have chosen Beneteau, Jeanneau, Gibsea and Sydney 38 yachts for their comfort, performance and ease of handling.

Safety First

Safety is our number one priority at all times. Sunsail's Sailing Schools are fully recognised by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and our yachts comply with all Department of Transport Commercial Survey requirements and Code of Practice for Sail Training Yachts. This means that our safety procedures and equipment are regularly monitored to comply with RYA regulations. All RYA Training Centres are regularly inspected for standards of tuition, facilities and equipment. At Sunsail we always aim to make your Sailing School course a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • You are under the supervision of our RYA qualified instructors at all times.
