Thailand Regattas
Phang Nga Bay Regatta
January
The Phang Nga Bay Regatta has become a firm favourite with sailors looking more for stunning scenery than 'round-the-cans' yacht racing.
The true appeal is the regatta's setting, amid the dramatic limestone karts that the bay is renowned for.
In keeping with the idea of enjoying the atmosphere as much as the racing, parties are held in different locations each night - often in remote pristine environments - and sailors sleep aboard their yachts.
Takes in 4 full days of yacht racing.
Sawadee.com Regatta (Koh Samui)
May
A mixture of passage and buoy racing in the Gulf of Thailand with a variety of great parties held at some of the classiest island resorts on the east coast of the peninsula.
The wonderful relaxed location of Koh Samui mixed in with top racing makes this regatta one of the best in Asia.
Phuket Race Week
July
The Phuket Race week is one of the region's premier yachting events. The regatta really promotes the Phuket lifestyle, demonstrating that a fantastic time can be had in Phuket all year round, not simply in the high season.
The racing and social events for this very popular regatta are exceptionally organised, no clambering on and off buses, as prizegivings and parties are all held in the one area.
Relax with a beer after racing in Ao Chalong and absorb the natural beauty and beatiful temperatures of this tropical paradise!
Phuket Kings Cup Regatta
December
The Phuket Kings Cup Regatta is the jewel in the crown of the Omega Asian Yachting Circuit.
Inaugurated in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand, the event has been held every year since during the first week of December.
With a fleet of more than 100 yachts, the action on the water is matched by the fun social schedule back on land.
