Sunsail International Sailing Cup

What is the SISC?

The Sunsail International Sailing Cup is an annual international regatta for Sunsail customers to compete against Sunsailors from other nations to win the first International Sailing Cup trophy.  The SISC will take place in a different Sunsail location around the world each year, testing the participants ability in a variety of sailing conditions.  The inaugural event will take place in Croatia in 2011.

Competitors will experience a different culture each year in some of the worlds best sailing grounds, with the event pitting nation against nation in a race to the finish.  We need Australian sailors to prove that we really are the best sailors in the world!

With over 20 boats competing each year with sailors from around the world, there will be a truly international feel to the event.  There will be a trophy for the individual winning boat of each race and an overall trophy for the winning country, which is retained until the following years event.

Win the ultimate prize of being the first team to win this presitgious event and make Australia very proud in the process!

Sunsail International Sailing Cup Itinerary

14th May 2011: Kremik

International flight to Split (not included)

Transfer to Sunsail Kremik base (not included) to get on board yachts.  Spend the night on board.

15th May 2011: Kremik to Trogir (23 miles)

Race starts at 14:00

Free tour of Trogir, a beautiful medieval town registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.  Discover all the history of a town dating back over 200 years that has been influenced by Greeks, Romans and Venetians.  Trogir's medieval centre, surrounded by walls, comprises a preserved castle and tower.

The evening will involve a crew members dinner.

16th May 2011: Trogir to Milina (Brac Island) (28 miles)

Race starts at 10:00

Milina is a small, attractive seaside village located on the eastern shores of the Gulf of Volos.  Attractive tavernas spill out onto either side of the coastal road running through the village, which remains a quiet area unspoilt by tourism.

Evening crew members dinner.

17th May 2011: Milina to Stari Grad (Hvar Island) (12 miles)

Race starts at 10:30

Stari Grad is one of the oldest towns in Europe.  Afternoon cocktails will be provided followed by a free evening.

18th May 2011: Stari Grad to Palmizana (11 miles)

Race starts at 10:00

Navigate towards the small island of Palmizana close to Hvar Island.  The afternoon is free with the possibility to take a taxi-boat (10 minutes) to visit the beautiful town of Hvar.  Hvar was a major naval base during the Venetian Empire and has long been an important base for commanding trade up and down the Adriatic.

19th May 2011: Palmizana to Maslinica (Solta Island) (16 miles)

Spend the night in Maslinica, a pretty little harbour (100 inhabitants) in a very sheltered bay.  Afternoon cocktails will be provided followed by a free evening.

20th May 2011: Maslinica to Kremik (20 miles)

Race starts at 10:00

Regatta gala dinner and prize giving ceremony.

21st May 2011: Kremik

Disembarking and transfer to Split airport for international flights (not included).
